Bayern Munich are pushing to sign Kieran Trippier from Newcastle United, but have seen a second offer for him rejected, according to talkSPORT.

The Bavarians have been hot on the heels of the English full-back this month and have not been perturbed by the Magpies’ not-for-sale stance.

They have seen approaches for both loan and permanent deals being knocked back but have been engaged in a new round of discussions.

Following those discussions, Bayern Munich went on to make a second offer of £12.8m for Trippier.

The proposal however has now been knocked back by Newcastle.

Newcastle remain clear that they do not want to lose Trippier during this month’s transfer window.

Whether Bayern Munich will come back to the table with a fresh proposal remains to be seen, but they may need Trippier to push for the move if it is to happen.

Joining Bayern Munich would reunite Trippier with former Tottenham Hotspur team-mates Eric Dier and Harry Kane.
