Besiktas are waiting for Newcastle United’s response to their offer for defender Jamaal Lascelles, it has been claimed in Turkey.
Lascelles is the Newcastle club captain and has played more football this season due to injuries to defenders in the squad.
However, he is not a first-choice defender in the Newcastle squad when everyone is fit and his contract is set to run out in the summer.
Newcastle are open to letting him go and Besiktas have offered an exit route out of St. James’ Park to Lascelles.
According to Sports Digitale, Besiktas have put in a bid to sign the centre-back from Newcastle in the ongoing window.
The Turkish giants are interested in signing the 30-year-old defender and a bid is in from them.
