Portsmouth are intending to table a bid for Wigan attacker Callum Lang who is also a target for Rotherham, according to The News.

They are sitting at the top of League One but John Mousinho remains keen to add to his Portsmouth squad in January.

The Portsmouth boss wants to bring in attacking reinforcements and Lang, 25, has emerged as a top target for the club.

Pompey made an enquiry into the possibility of snaring Lang away from Wigan towards the end of last season.

Portsmouth have followed it up by communicating to Wigan that they will make a bid for the winger.

Wigan are yet to receive a bid but Portsmouth are expected to put in their offer for the player soon.

However, they do not have a clear run at Lang as Rotherham are also interested in signing the 25-year-old winger.

Primarily a right winger, Lang can play across the front line and Mousinho is a fan of his versatility.

A product of the Wigan academy, the winger has scored 31 times in 143 appearances for the club.
