Richard Keys has insisted that the current Sheffield United side are one of the worst teams he has seen at Premier League level in years.

The Blades suffered a 6-0 hammering at the hands of Arsenal at Bramall Lane on Monday night.

Arsenal were 5-0 up before half-time and Keys insisted that Sheffield United did not receive more of a hiding because the away side took their foot off the gas after the break.

Derby County are the recorded worst side in the Premier League after they got relegated with just eleven points in the 2007/08 season, but Keys stressed that Sheffield United are not far behind.

He stressed that the Blades and Burnley are definitely going back to the Championship at the end of the current campaign.

Keys took to X and wrote: “The 11 points they had in 07/08 officially make Derby the worst Premier League team ever but Sheff United are as bad as I’ve seen and that’s taking nothing away from Arsenal.

“I don’t blame fans leaving after 15 mins. It’s a good job Arsenal eased up.

“Blades and a naive Burnley are down.”

Sheffield United are sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table on 13 points, eleven points adrift off safety after 27 games.
