Philippe Clement has hailed the Rangers support and noted that Thursday’s Europa League clash against Benfica sold out very quickly.

Clement’s men produced a thrilling performance in the first leg in Portugal as they recorded a 2-2 draw with Benfica.

Rangers will now try to get the job done in front of the home fans and the game is scheduled for a 17:45 kick-off, unlike the traditional 20:00 kick-off the Gers have regularly had for such matches.

Clement is delighted with the support Rangers will receive in the game and noted just how quickly the tickets sold out, despite the kick-off time being a tough one for some fans to make.

“This game sold out really fast”, Clement told a press conference.

“We know people will have to leave work early for this game so we really appreciate the support we know they will bring.”

And Rangers skipper James Tavernier feels he knows what to expect from the fans and what atmosphere they will generate.

“Our previous experiences in the Europa League at Ibrox we know our fans come with electric energy and get right behind the team.

“We will go in and give it our all”, Tavernier added.

Rangers reached the Europa League final in 2022 and were only narrowly edged out by Eintracht Frankfurt.
