John Textor has held talks with Everton supremo Farhad Moshiri as he looks at buying the Toffees, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

777 Partners are still trying to take control at Goodison Park after agreeing a deal with Moshiri and loaning the club £210m.

They are struggling to close the deal though and with continued questions about their financial situation look to be up against it.

Crystal Palace part owner Textor is keen to see if Everton would be something for him after he started to look for a buyer for his Palace shareholding.

He has flown to Spain to hold discussions with Moshiri as he assesses a swoop for Everton.

Textor is considered to now be definitely in the race to become the new Everton owner, but whether he will agree a deal with Moshiri and progress his interest remains to be seen.

He owns French side Lyon and Brazilian outfit Botafogo and wants another Premier League side.

Talks with Moshiri in Spain though signal his intent, while major backers and Andy Bell and George Downing were also in the country.

Textor would have to sell his Crystal Palace shareholding before he could take over Everton, though the Premier League may allow him a small period of grace to sell while finishing the Toffees deal.
