A club considered including a player Tottenham Hotspur are interested in as part of a deal to sign a Spurs star, but ‘negotiations did not progress’.

With the January transfer window approaching, clubs will be able to do business and Tottenham are likely to have to deal with enquiries for several of their players.

Ange Postecoglou may have decisions to make on some players, but one deal does not look likely to happen despite work having been done by an interested side.

Brazilian giants Flamengo have been looking to see if Richarlison could be brought back to Brazil from Spurs.

The club also looked at including full-back Wesley, who they know that Tottenham are keen on, in an agreement for the Spurs attacker, according to Brazilian journalist Julio Miguel Neto.

However, ‘negotiations did not progress’.

Richarlison is not interested in going back to Brazil at the moment and the sums that would be involved in the deal were also seen as prohibitively high.

Flamengo finished third in the Brazilian Serie A this year, nine points off champions Botafogo.
