Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Japanese forward Takashi Usami from Gamba Osaka on loan.

The 19-year-old is rated as one of Japan’s finest talents and will have the chance to earn a permanent switch to the Allianz Arena by impressing in Munich in the first half of next season.

Bayern received a glowing recommendation of Usami’s potential when speaking with Japanese football expert Guido Buchwald, who has labelled the youngster as having something of the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery about him.

Usami will be bidding to follow in the footsteps of countryman Shinji Kagawa, who took the Bundesliga by storm last season after moving to Borussia Dortmund for just €350,000.

And it is the Japanese talent pool that Bayern are eager to tap into, with Usami a potential first step to further talents from the Far East.
