Legendary former Real Madrid player Zinedine Zidane has taken on a new role at Los Blancos with more responsibility.

Zidane had been working as a bridge between Real Madrid’s first team and the club’s management and his presence around the Bernabeu has been greeted positively by all.

Now the Frenchman himself has confirmed a change of role at the Spanish giants; Zidane told DirectSport that he is now serving as the new director of the first and reserve teams.

Zidane is known to enjoy a good relationship with coach Jose Mourinho and his increased involvement at Real Madrid appears to offer only benefits.

The former midfielder also has the ear of president Florentino Perez and has advised the businessman on potential signings.
