English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers have expressed an interest in Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda.

The 25-year-old currently turns out for Russian giants CSKA Moscow, but is widely thought to be available at the right price.

Honda has been attracting the most serious attention from Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, with each eager to explore the possibility of adding the former VVV-Venlo star to their squad before the start of the new season.

But Blackburn, who have been relatively quiet on the transfer front this summer, believe they could tempt the schemer to the Premier League, and his signing would also be a statement of intent from the club’s Indian owners Venky’s.

The North West side look likely to lodge a bid of around £12M for Honda, but while this would represent a significant profit for CSKA, the Russian side are thought to be aiming for a higher fee.

Honda is under contract with CSKA until 31st December, 2013.
