Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo has moved to Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan.

Juventus had been looking to offload Melo, but will settle for sending the former Fiorentina man out on a season-long loan and banking €1.5M in the process.

Galatasaray have also agreed to pay €13M next summer if they wish to make the 28-year-old’s switch a permanent one.

The defensive midfielder has been underwhelming during his spell in Turin and had been linked with a number of clubs, with a move back to his homeland with Corinthians a possibility.

But it is Galatasaray who have won the day.

The Istanbul side are set on winning next season’s Turkish Super Lig, dethroning their bitter rivals Fenerbahce in the process and it is hoped Melo will help them achieve that goal.
