Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala have completed the signing of Yuri Zhirkov from Chelsea.

The Blues had relented to the departure of Zhirkov last week providing Anzhi made a tempting offer and the Russian side did just that, splashing out €15M to secure the signature of the Russia international.

Zhirkov had grown disillusioned at Stamford Bridge and wished to leave Chelsea to ensure first team football.

At Anzhi, the club which has snaffled up Roberto Carlos, Diego Tardelli, Mbark Boussoufa and Balazs Dzsudzsak amongst others, Zhirkov will receive just that.

The former CSKA Moscow man has inked a four-year deal with Anzhi and will reportedly take home some €5.5M per year, making him one of Russia’s top earners.

Anzhi have big plans to become Russia’s top club side and are also targeting a place in the 2012/13 Champions League.
