Jose Mourinho looks to have been forced to relent in his desire to take Santos forward Neymar to Real Madrid this summer.

The 19-year-old is ready to move to Los Blancos, but only after the Club World Cup in December.

Neymar, who helped Santos to win the Copa Libertadores earlier this year, is desperate to spearhead the Brazilian side’s charge to become officially the best side in world football.

And despite Mourinho pleading with Neymar to move to Madrid this summer, the youngster wants to remain at Santos and have a crack at beating Barcelona in the Club World Cup.

Sources in Spain suggest Real Madrid have now accepted Neymar’s wishes and, after celebrating Christmas with his family in Brazil, expect to officially sign the 19-year-old on 1st January, 2012.

This leaves Mourinho with a tricky decision to make.

The Portuguese had hoped that Neymar would boost his pool of strikers before the start of the new La Liga season. Now Mourinho must decide whether to enter the market for another forward, or go for six months with one less striker than he wished.
