Schalke boss Ralf Rangnick has warned clubs interested in striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar that they are wasting their time.

Russian Premier League giants Rubin Kazan have been linked with the Dutchman of late, while several other European sides are said to be considering making an offer for the striker’s services.

But according to Rangnick, that would simply be a waste of time as the Ruhr giants do not want to sell Huntelaar.

"Klaas is under contract with us [until 2013] and there is no reason to think that we want to sell him", said the Schalke boss.

"It’s like asking me if I want to sell the stadium!"

Huntelaar landed at Schalke last summer from AC Milan, but struggled to really get going, making just 23 appearances in the Bundesliga. The hitman however will hope for a better 2011/12 campaign.
