FC Porto could train their sights on former Marseille striker Mamadou Niang if Falaco leaves the Portuguese club.

Falcao is a target for Atletico Madrid, who are still seeking to adequately replace Sergio Aguero. The Vicente Calderon side have money to spend and are pushing ahead with moves to take Falaco to La Liga.

And while Porto would like to keep hold of the Colombian international, replacements are being considered by new coach Vitor Pereira and president Pinto da Costa.

The name dominating Porto’s thoughts is Fenerbahce striker Niang.

The 31-year-old only joined the Istanbul giants last summer from Marseille on a lucrative contract and found the back of the net 15 times in the club’s victorious Super Lig campaign.

However, the match fixing scandal engulfing Fenerbache means that Niang could be available for a cut-price €5M, and this is tempting Porto.
