According to sources in England, Stoke City are in the final stages of agreeing terms over the transfer of Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome.

The 24-year-old is eager to make a return to England’s top flight, after suffering the pain of relegation from the Premier League last season.

With Stoke City boss Tony Pulis’ number one target, Tottenham Hotspur hitman Peter Crouch still weighing up a move to Sunderland, time is running out for the Potters manager who is keen to add another striker to Stoke’s squad.

And so it is Jerome who is concentrating minds at the Britannia Stadium.

Birmingham are not in a position to refuse a tempting offer for the striker, especially given the shortfall in cash their relegation has brought.
