The 21-year-old attacking midfielder completed a move to join Chelsea from Leverkusen earlier this month for a reported deal worth €100m.

While claims in England suggest that Chelsea negotiated a lower transfer fee, Leverkusen have been insistent that the deal is worth the full €100m, including the add-ons.

But Leverkusen will not be receiving the full figure even if all the add-ons negotiated with Chelsea kick in.

According to German magazine SportBild, Havertz is due ten per cent of the full transfer fee as part of the negotiations.

The German however will also not receive as much as he could have.

The attacking midfielder agreed to forego some of the money in order to push the agreement through between Chelsea and Leverkusen.

But the player will still receive a significant portion of the transfer fee from Leverkusen’s kitty.

Havertz has joined Chelsea’s pre-season preparations and is in line to be in the squad against Brighton next Monday night.
