Manchester United will be travelling to Spain to take on Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday night in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

With both teams being inconsistent this season, there are no clear favourites going into the first leg in Spain on Wednesday and both sides are fancying their chances.

Atletico Madrid have struggled to keep clean sheets this season and Savic admitted that Manchester United’s forward line are a matter of concern due to the quality they have in terms of strikers and wingers.

The defender told Spanish daily AS: “We are concerned.

“We know their virtues, they have very fast players on the wing and they have strikers who move well in the penalty box.

“We are aware that they are going to play that way and we are ready.”

Ronaldo has a fantastic record against Atletico Madrid, scoring 25 times in 35 appearances against the Spanish giants.

The striker scored big goals against them when he was at Real Madrid and almost singlehandedly took Juventus past the Spanish giants in the last 16 of the Champions League in 2019.

However, Savic stressed that he is not overly worried about taking on the Portuguese again.

“Especially not.

“It’s always good to play against great champions but in the Champions League the players are of the highest level and that doesn’t change.”
