Vitinha is a man in demand as the transfer window enters its final stretch and several clubs are now scrapping over his signature.

Brighton were claimed to be close to signing him, but those suggestions were shot down.

Southampton and Marseille now appear to be leading the race to capture Vitinha, but there is another club now making their presence felt.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have entered the race.

They are admirers of Vitinha and Emery rates the Braga man.

The Premier League side could yet make a forceful push to make sure Vitinha is playing his football at Villa Park for the second half of the season.

Vitinha has a release clause at Braga which is set at the €30m mark, but it is unclear if any side have triggered it so far.
