Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones is keen to move the conversation on from George Dobson, who is now staying at the Valley until the summer.

Dobson is out of contract at Charlton in the summer and had been lined up for a move to Hungary where Fehervar want to sign him.

With the Hungarian transfer window still open, Dobson was expected to fly out to undergo a medical and then join Fehervar now.

Charlton though have blocked the move and are keeping Dobson until his contract expires, though he is still likely to join Fehervar on a pre-contract agreement.

The Charlton star was pictured holding up a Fehervar shirt at the weekend, but Jones insists he did not travel to Hungary.

The Addicks boss now wants to move the conversation beyond Dobson, who he is not ruling out keeping.

“I don’t know where he would’ve got the shirt from, but he is in the country”, Jones told the South London Press.

“It’s not all about George Dobson.

“George is staying, he’s staying until the end of the season.

“Is there an option for him to stay longer? Probably, if he chooses not to that’s fine…no problem.”

Jones has walked into a relegation battle in League One by taking the Charlton job and the Addicks are only outside the drop zone on goal difference at present.
