Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that Fiorentina have made a very attractive offer for out-of-favour striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Moroccan’s future at the Emirates Stadium is in some doubt due to the limited playing time he received last season and La Viola have been keeping a close eye on his situation.
And now Wenger has confirmed that the Serie A giants have made their move for the former Bordeaux hitman – and Arsenal are considering it.
"Fiorentina asked us about the availability of Chamakh", Wenger was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.
"A day later they came back with a serious offer", he added.
"We’ll think about it."
Chamakh has struggled to make the desired impact at Arsenal since signing for the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2010.
The Moroccan has been linked with the exit door before, but has been consistent in his desire to stay and fight for a first team spot.
The arrival of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud however has made the competition at Arsenal even more fierce and he may reconsider his position, especially if Fiorentina can agree a fee with the Gunners.
