Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has revealed he still gets questioned about the club's 2005 Champions League win by supporters, almost ten years on from the event.

Gerrard was part of the Liverpool side which was involved in arguably the most exciting Champions League final of all time in Istanbul in 2005.

The Reds, who started as big underdogs against AC Milan in Turkey, fell 3-0 behind to the Italian giants by half-time, looking dead and buried.

But Gerrard helped lead the comeback and Liverpool pulled the scoreline back to 3-3 before going on to claim their fifth European Cup on penalties.

"If I'm in and around Melwood or in and around Liverpool supporters I still get asked questions about it now, about my individual performance and the team's performance", he told LFC TV, at the screening of a new film called One Night In Istanbul, which sees four fans head to watch the final.

"I'm sure that will go on for many, many years. It's certainly going to be in my memories until the day I go and that's because I love Liverpool as much as them", the Reds skipper added.

Liverpool return to Champions League action after an absence of five years tonight when they host Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad at Anfield.
