Tottenham Hotspur legend Glenn Hoddle and current top scorer Harry Kane have spent time reminiscing over their first goal for the England national team.

Hoddle made 490 appearances for the White Hart Lane outfit between 1975 and 1987, and scored 110 goals for the club; the 58-year-old also lifted two FA Cups with the Lilywhites.




Hoddle made 53 appearances for the England national team scoring eight goals, and recalled scoring on his debut against Bulgaria on 22nd November 1979 at Wembley.

Kane made his debut for the Three Lions on 27th March 2015 against Lithuania, coming on as a second half substitute for Wayne Rooney, and scored within 79 seconds of coming on, heading home a Raheem Sterling cross.
 


The 22-year-old striker picked his debut goal for the England national team as the highlight of his career.

The pair were seen discussing their respective debuts for the national side on Spurs TV, where Hoddle said: “I know you scored on your debut for England, I did, I did against Bulgaria.

“My game it was fogged off on Wednesday and I'd have probably had a nightmare that day so I was lucky it was played on a Thursday and managed to score a goal and play quite well."

Kane meanwhile said: “I came on against Lithuania at Wembley.

“It was special just to make my debut, and then obviously to score after 79 seconds into your England debut was special for me. Probably the highlight of my career.

“That moment just in front of all the fans in front of Wembley. It’s just stuff you dream of, as they say.

“I laid it off then got in the box and my eyes lit up when I saw the ball coming towards me.”

Hoddle even remembered the end in which he had scored at on his debut in the old Wembley stadium.

He said: “My Bulgaria one was at the same end [as yours], but it was the old [Wembley] Stadium.”
