Arsenal and Chelsea linked winger Leon Bailey has revealed that his dream is to play in England and is confident that some day it will happen.

The Jamaican winger was linked with a move to England before he eventually joined Bayer Leverkusen in January last year, but his future at the club remains under the scanner.

Chelsea are understood to be interested in signing him in the winter transfer window but Leverkusen have made it clear that Bailey will not be going anywhere this month.

The competition for his signature is expected to be fierce next summer when Manchester United and Arsenal are expected to join the race and Bailey admits that playing in England has always been his dream.

The Jamaican told German daily Bild when asked whether any of the top English sides are his dream team: “Of course I have a dream club, but I won’t say anything.

“Basically [playing in] England was and still is my dream and if I keep working hard, it will work out some day.”

The winger stressed that for the moment he is happy at Leverkusen as they are the right kind of club for his development and wants to play in the Champions League with the Bundesliga outfit.

Asked if the club can hold on to him without European football, Bailey said: “The transfer to Bayer was just the right step for my development. I am happy here.

“And we have every chance of getting in the Champions League. Europe is our big goal.”
