Jose Mourinho’s men want to sign a centre-back before the transfer window closes, but have faced disappointment in their pursuits of Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger and Inter’s Milan Skriniar.

Ruben Dias was also on Spurs’ radar, but the defender swapped Benfica for Manchester City.

Now Tottenham are mulling over a swoop for Rodon and could do the deal all the way through to the closure of the domestic transfer window on 16th October.

It is claimed that Swansea City would be looking for around £18m to let the 22-year-old leave.

Swansea are clear that they will not let Rodon depart for a reduced fee and it is unclear if Tottenham will be willing to meet the Welsh club’s asking price.

He is currently on international duty with Wales and is expected to feature against England on Thursday.

Rodon has been linked with other Premier League clubs, including West Ham United.
