Manchester United and Newcastle United target Benjamin Sesko has a release clause in his contract at RB Leipzig which will be valid this summer.

Sesko was snapped up by Leipzig last summer following hugely impressive performances at their sister club Red Bull Salzburg.

It had been thought that Sesko could go elsewhere amid real interest from top sides, but Leipzig managed to keep him within the Red Bull family.

However, to do so, they had to compromise and, according to Sky Deutschland, a release clause was added to the striker’s contract.

It is set at just €50m and, crucially, will be valid in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Sesko, who has been linked with a host of Premier League sides including Manchester United and Newcastle, has netted seven times in 23 appearances for Leipzig so far this season.

If Leipzig do lose Sesko for the €50m clause it would still represent a profit on the €30m deal agreed to sign him.

The 20-year-old though will be in the driving seat when the summer transfer window opens as if his clause is triggered then any move will be down to his desire.
