Former Scotland star Mark Wilson has admitted that teams will want to avoid facing Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final as they could be experiencing a new manager bounce by then.
Neil Warnock stepped down as the interim manager after Aberdeen beat Kilmarnock 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
His short time at Aberdeen came in for heavy criticism and many even questioned his attitude. However, the veteran manager bowed out on a high after leading Aberdeen to the semi-final.
Wilson feels Celtic, Rangers and Hearts could want to avoid facing a resurgent Aberdeen in the semi-final of the cup.
He stressed that Aberdeen are likely to have a new manager by then and they could be experiencing a resurgence in form, which the other teams will want to avoid.
The former Scotland star said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “For any new manager coming in when you are looking for a bounce, what a time to get a bounce!
“Do many teams want to play them?
“It’s always dangerous to play against a team with a new manager.”
Peter Leven will be in charge of the first team until a new manager is appointed at Aberdeen, but Warnock indicated a new man is imminent.
