Dougie Freedman has parted company with Championship side Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent.

The Trotters have been on a poor run of form, losing their last three Championship games. The final nail in the coffin for Freedman, who led his side to just one league win all season, came with a midweek defeat at lowly Fulham.

Bolton have also failed to score a single goal in their last three league games. And Freedman, who left Crystal Palace to take over at Bolton in 2012, has paid with his job.

"Dougie has worked tirelessly off the field to improve the infrastructure of the football club. Unfortunately, recent results on the pitch have not reflected all his work off it", Bolton chairman Phil Gartside told the club's official site.

"The club has faced a difficult time following our relegation from the Premier League and Dougie has helped to restructure the club in order for it to become successful again under ever-tightening constraints.
