Daley Blind feels that Manchester United are continuing to take steps to playing the way Louis van Gaal wants them to after they beat Leicester City 3-1 earlier today at Old Trafford.

The hosts took the lead in the 27th minute when Dutch striker Robin van Persie rifled the ball home after being played in by Blind.

It did not take long for the Red Devils to extend their lead, this time through Van Persie's strike partner Radamel Falcao, who converted from close range in the 32nd minute.

A Wes Morgan own goal in the 44th minute put Manchester United 3-0 up, killing Leicester off.

The Foxes did pull one back when Marcin Wasilewski was left free to head the ball home in the 80th minute, but it was no more than a consolation.

And Manchester United closed out the game, securing a 3-1 win to take all three points and move up to third spot in the Premier League.

And Blind was delighted, being quoted as saying by the BBC: "We are pleased with the result. We tried to keep possession and create chances from that. We were the better team, keeping possession and scoring goals. Once you score the first goal the other team has to do something.

"We played a good game with a lot of patience and ball possession. The first half was very good, in the second half maybe we had too much patience. But we tried to kill the game with possession and create chances from that."

The Dutchman also feels that the game was yet another step towards replicating the Van Gaal way of playing, with the Red Devils firmly on the right path.

"We come closer every week to the way Louis van Gaal wants us to play. We are on the right track and we are happy."
