Rangers' Scottish Championship fixture against Raith Rovers today has been called off, the Scottish Professional Football League have confirmed.

The officials inspected the pitch at Stark's Park twice in the morning before deeming the surface unfit to play on, hence postponing the game.

A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.

Rangers, who have dropped just four points in the Scottish Championship thus far, are currently three points clear at the top of the table with 40 points from 15 outings, four places and 17 points ahead of Raith.

The teams met at Ibrox Stadium for the corresponding fixture in September, with Rangers running out 5-0 winners, courtesy of goals apiece from Lee Wallace, James Tavernier and Barry McKay, while Martyn Waghorn netted a brace from the spot.
