Sunderland are keeping tabs on Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

The Romania international, who joined Deportivo from Cordoba in the summer, has been in good form for his new employers.

Andone has thus far made 15 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish outfit, scoring five times and setting up a goal.

The 23-year-old’s exploits in front of goal have attracted the interest of Sunderland, who are presently in 18th spot in the Premier League table with 11 points from 14 outings.

The Black Cats have managed to score just 14 goals in the league this season, the lowest in the division, with Jermain Defoe being their highest goalscorer with eight strikes to his name.

And Sunderland boss David Moyes may well be looking to Andone to pose a goal threat for Premier League defences.

Andone, whose present contract with Deportivo runs until 2021, also has 13 caps and a goal for Romania to his name.

The forward counts Castellon and Cordoba amongst his former employers.
