Manchester United and Manchester City are preparing big money offers for Monaco full-back Benjamin Mendy, who is also on Liverpool’s radar.

The 22-year-old Monaco left-back is set to start a heated battle in the north west of England for his signature as Manchester United and Manchester City prepare to lock horns for him.

Manchester City are already on the verge of signing Monaco attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva but Pep Guardiola is plotting to raid the Ligue 1 champions for more players by attempting to sign Mendy.

However, the Frenchman is on Jose Mourinho’s radar too as the Manchester United manger wants to add a top drawer left-back to his squad and has directed the club to get the 22-year-old to Old Trafford.

And according to French radio station RMC, both Mancunian clubs are prepared to slap €45m bids on Monaco’s table in order to secure the signature of the France international.

Liverpool are also interested in Mendy as a solution for their own full-back problems but it remains to be seen whether they choose to match the financial muscle of the Manchester clubs.

Monaco won the Ligue 1 after 17 years and made it to the last four of the Champions League this season, but are in danger of watching their squad break up in the summer.

Silva is set to start the exodus but Mendy could also follow his Monaco team-mate to the north west of England.
