Youssouf Mulumbu is not prepared to write off his Celtic career despite joining former club Kilmarnock on loan in the January transfer window.

The midfield enforcer shone under Steve Clarke at Rugby Park last season before Celtic swooped to take him to Glasgow last summer.

But things did not go according to plan for Mulumbu at Parkhead and a lack of playing time saw him agree to move back to Kilmarnock on loan last month.

Despite a lack of opportunities at Celtic, Mulumbu insists he is planning to return to the Scottish champions in the summer and still feels he can get his spell at the club back on track.

"I’m here for six months to help Kilmarnock and if I do every right and if we achieve something very good, I know I’ll be back at Celtic in the summer and everything can change from there", the midfielder was quoted as saying by the Herald.

"In my head, it’s not over at Celtic.

"If you speak with Brendan [Rodgers] and the lads, they know I want to go back and do great things for them."

Mulumbu played all 90 minutes for Kilmarnock on their 0-0 Scottish Cup draw against Rangers on Saturday.

Clarke's side, who next face Mulumbu's parent club Celtic on Sunday at Rugby Park, currently sit fourth in the Scottish Premiership standings.
