The winger is keen on leaving Anfield this summer and German giants Bayern Munich are keen on snapping him up, even offering him a lucrative deal.

Liverpool want to keep Mane in their ranks and possibly extend his stint but boss Jurgen Klopp has given the green light to sell him, as he has his heart set on leaving.

The Bavarians saw Liverpool reject their initial bid for Mane and they were working on returning to the table with another offer.

And Bayern Munich submitted an improved offer for the Senegalese today, but Liverpool have knocked it back.

The German champions presented an offer worth a potential £30m including bonuses for Mane’s signature but Liverpool do not see the new proposal being enough to make them part ways with a key player in their squad.

Liverpool want a fee in excess of £40m for Mane, even though he has only one year remaining on his current deal at Anfield.

It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich will return to the negotiating table with a third bid for the Liverpool star.
