Leeds are prepared to match Club Brugge’s €36m asking price and meet the wage demands of the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.

But De Ketelaere has communicated to Leeds that he would prefer a move to AC Milan if the Serie A giants can agree on a fee with Club Brugge.

The Rossoneri have already failed with two bids for the player but a new offer is expected to be launched today.

And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, the technical director and sporting director of AC Milan, respectively, will travel to Brugge on Wednesday.

The AC Milan officials will hope to find a breakthrough in talks with Club Brugge for the signature of De Ketelaere.

The Serie A champions are prepared to offer a fee of €30m and meet Club Brugge’s asking price through add-ons.

AC Milan are quietly hopeful that a deal will be done and they will get their hands on De Ketelaere.

The Rossoneri are keen to arrange a medical for the Belgian on Thursday or Friday if an agreement can be worked out with Club Brugge.

AC Milan are reportedly prepared to walk away from the deal if an agreement cannot be reached by the end of the week.

Leeds are yet to pull the plug on their pursuit and could yet look to sign him if AC Milan do not get De Ketelaere.
