Rangers signed the attacking midfielder from Bayern Munich on loan last summer with an option to buy him.

He is currently out injured with a hamstring problem but Tillman has impressed this season and has scored 12 times in all competitions for the Glasgow giants.

There has been an expectation that Rangers will sign him on a permanent deal this summer but the player himself admitted that the chance of him staying at Ibrox is 50-50 at the moment.

And Wilson admitted that he does not see any desperation on the player’s side to want to return to Rangers in the summer.

The former defender also does not see Rangers paying the fee needed to sign the player on a permanent deal in the coming weeks and months.

Wilson said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “He has been at Rangers, he has performed well this season, he gets to play in front of 50,000 and that is the obvious buy-in for him.

“He has a chance to play European football but he doesn’t seem desperate to me.

“If I was a betting man, I would say he wouldn’t be at Rangers next season, for both parties that is.

“I don’t know if Rangers will pay £5m and I don’t know if Malik Tillman seems desperate to jump at the chance of coming back.”

It remains to be seen whether Rangers and Tillman agree to continue their association over the summer.
