Dons boss Barry Robson is in line for a late reinforcement from Denmark in the shape of centre-back Gartenmann.
The Dane will join Aberdeen on a season-long loan deal, according to Danish daily BT.
The deal does not include any option for Aberdeen to trigger to keep Gartenmann on a permanent basis.
Gartenmann came through the youth set-up at Dutch club Heerenveen, but headed back to Denmark to make his mark in senior football.
He has been on the books at Midtjylland since the summer of 2022.
Gartenmann will be looking to make sure he is playing on a regular basis in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen.
The defender has been capped by Denmark at multiple youth levels, but is yet to win a senior cap for his country.
