Leicester have seen a host of players leave King Power Stadium this summer, but they have brought in experienced players in the form of Harry Winks and Conor Coady to help them in their attempt to get back to the Premier League.

On Wednesday, Leicester secured their sixth win of the league campaign against promotion contenders Norwich City and are now in second place in the table.

Nugent believes that Leicester have several players with experience and good leadership qualities in their side who can guide the other players in tough situations.

He pointed out that Jamie Vardy, Hamza Choudhury, Ricardo Pereira, Winks and Coady are all players with great experience and stressed that having so many experienced leaders can only help Leicester improve.

When asked about whether Winks is a leader for Leicester City, Nugent said on BBC Radio Leicester: “There are so many on the pitch as well.

“Harry Winks had the composure and experience of playing in the Premier League, played a lot of games.

“Conor Coady played for England, Wolves captain and Everton captain when he played there.

“You have Hamza captain, you have Ricardo captain, and Vards captain.

“It is like five of them on the pitch; you need leaders on the pitch.

“Sometimes, when times are tough and Norwich put you under pressure, you have these players who were encouraging players to keep tight and keep that clean sheet.

“When you have that many leaders on the pitch, it can only help.”

Leicester will next take on Bristol City at the weekend, as Enzo Maresca’s side will be eyeing their third straight win in the league.
