Trott’s side sit second bottom of the Danish Superliga after losing seven of their opening ten games this season.

However, they held third placed FC Nordsjaelland to a 0-0 draw at the weekend and the game not only provided their first point on home turf, but also their first clean sheet.

Trott believes it could well serve as a key confidence booster for Vejle going forward.

“This is the first time we’ve got points at home so it was hugely important for us”, Trott said via bold.dk.

“We also kept a clean sheet for the first time.

“It is a step in the right direction for us and I think everyone showed a perfect attitude on the pitch.”

Trott added: “We know how good we can be defensively. It has taken time to adapt to the Superliga, but things have looked better in the last three games and the effort against FC Nordsjaelland was a perfect example of how we can defend.

“It is a huge morale boost for the team.”

West Ham will be keeping a close eye on Trott’s performances in the Danish top flight ahead of his return to the London Stadium next summer.

The 24-year-old also spent last term at Velje and helped the club win promotion.
