Leicester have won 13 of their 14 Championship games so far and are now threatening to run away with the division.
They are also being backed to break records on their way to getting promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Maresca has not shied away from rotating his deep squad this season and Baraclough insisted that he needs to continue to do that given the long slog that the Championship can be.
He stressed that the Leicester boss is keeping everyone in the squad involved and they have an incentive to work hard in training in order to earn a place in the team.
The former Leicester star pointed out that no one is guaranteed to start every week and the players have a huge incentive to perform at their best when they get an opportunity to play.
Baraclough said on the BBC’s When You’re Smiling Podcast: “All players would love to play every game but we know that the Championship is relentless.
“It’s generally Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday and there will be an odd cup game thrown in there as well.
“What it has done is that it has allowed Enzo to turn around to the squad and say, ‘Listen I have got rotation options and I will do that to keep things fresh’.
“It means that everybody is involved, it means that there is not that core 11 or 12 players that are going to be involved every week and they are playing for the shirt in training and they are all wanting to be involved in that.
“And it keeps everybody on their toes.
“For me, there is no better position than that and the players are buying into that.
“They know that they are not going to play every week, then know when they are in the team, they have got to perform to give themselves a chance to be in the following week but there are no guarantees.
“They can always be replaced with somebody just as good if not better.”
Leicester have a 14-point lead over third-placed Leeds United, who will visit the King Power Stadium on Friday night for a big Championship encounter.
