Devlin, 19, joined Mousinho’s side from Northern Irish outfit Glentoran in the summer and made six substitute appearances for the League One club prior to the match against Reading.
The talented central midfielder scored the winner for Pompey at the Madejski Stadium and Mousinho has lauded the Northern Irish player for his contribution.
Mousinho particularly pointed out Devlin’s performances against Barnsley and Lincoln City and hailed the midfielder’s on-field diligence and passion for football.
He further added that a player of Devlin’s talent must have become frustrated to wait for 14 league matches to make his first league start for the side.
“The kid has a huge amount of passion for the game, absolutely loves it”, Mousinho told the News.
“It must have been incredibly frustrating for him for 14 league games to sit on the sidelines and not make a start.
“Well he has now – and it was a brilliant finish.“
Portsmouth are currently leading the League One table and they are determined to secure promotion this term.
And Devlin is also looking to contribute to his club’s campaign significantly this season.
