Sunderland boss Michael Beale has stressed that Nazariy Rusyn has played more under him in recent weeks than he had previously and feels the attacker is working hard.
The 25-year-old centre forward was brought in by Tony Mowbray in the summer but he failed to score under the previous Sunderland boss.
Rusyn has started twice out of the Black Cats’ last three games and netted his first Sunderland goal against Preston North End in early January.
Beale stated that the forward’s performances have pleased him and he pointed out that Rusyn works extremely hard for the team.
The Sunderland boss also added that the language barrier has been a little bit of a problem for the Ukrainian, but is not concerned about it and feels that the attacker is getting game time under him.
“I have been pleased with him since I have come into the club”, Beale said at a press conference.
“He has played more obviously of late with me being here than previous.
“He has scored a goal and he works hard for the team.
“It is a little bit with the connection with the language, but that will take a little bit of time; nothing I am worried about.”
Sunderland are set to take on Hull City on Friday night and Rusyn will be hoping to get into Beale’s starting line-up for that game.
