Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi will be out for eight weeks following knee surgery, according to the Daily Mail.

The centre-back has already missed the last three Premier League games from Crystal Palace but was believed to be close to returning to action.

However, he suffered a setback during his rehabilitation process from a knee injury and it required surgical intervention.

The defender has undergone the procedure but will be out of action for the next eight weeks as he recovers from the surgery.

Guehi has been an integral part of the Crystal Palace team and has even captained the team this season.

However, new Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner will be without the services of one of the best defenders in the squad for the next eight weeks.

Guehi will also be unavailable for England’s international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium next month.

The defender will hope to end the season on a high once he returns and do enough to break into the England squad for the European Championship.
