The agent of Southampton loanee Carlos Alcaraz has claimed that the midfielder’s option to buy is tied to the number of games he plays for Juventus this season.

Juventus signed the midfielder on loan from Southampton in the last winter transfer window.

The Serie A giants also secured an option to make the move permanent for a fee believed to be around the €50m mark.

However, Sebastian Lopez, his agent, claimed that the figure in the purchase clause is not fixed.

He revealed that the price will come down the more he plays for Juventus during the loan stint.

“I cannot provide details on the contract that was signed”, the agent told Italian outlet TuttoJuve.

“But I can say that the greater the number of appearances, the more the value will decrease.”

Juventus are not expected to take up the option on the midfielder and are planning to negotiate another loan deal with Southampton in the summer.

However, Lopez insisted that no decision has been made and Alcaraz’s future will only be discussed at the end of the season.

“I still do not have any news on Charly’s future; Juventus are committed to finishing their season and achieving their goals.

“This will be a topic that will be discussed soon.”

The 21-year-old, who has made six appearances for Juventus, is believed to be keen on continuing with the Serie A giants.
