Marseille are working on a deal to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on loan with a mandatory purchase clause in the ongoing transfer window.

The French giants have already signed Mason Greenwood from Manchester United and are set to finalise the capture of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Roberto De Zerbi is looking to add more strength to Marseille’s attack and is keen to continue shopping in the Premier League.

Nketiah has been discussed internally at the club for a while and Marseille reportedly tabled their first offer over the weekend.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Marseille are working on signing the forward on an initial loan.

The French giants are aware that Nketiah would be expensive and are trying to work out a loan deal to sign him.

Marseille are prepared to attach an obligation to buy clause as part of the loan deal to take Nketiah to southern France.

It is still unclear whether Arsenal are prepared to listen to offers for the striker this summer.
