Celtic are now seeing two clubs south of the border scrapping for the signature of one of their attackers, according to the Express & Star.
Brendan Rodgers has already brought in substantial cash this summer by selling Matt O’Riley to Brighton, but his coffers are poised for a further top-up.
As Celtic hunt LAFC attacker Mateusz Bogusz and Augsburg midfielder Arne Engels, Bhoys attacker Mikey Johnston is the subject of real attention.
Sheffield United have just failed to conclude a deal for Johnston and now Burnley and West Brom are scrapping over him.
Both have seen offers of around £3m accepted by Celtic and personal terms have been agreed.
Now the ball is firmly in Johnston’s court over which side he would like to join and West Brom, as a club where he has been on loan, will be hoping they win out.
Johnston enjoyed his spell at West Brom and could be eager to return.
Burnley though are ambitious, played in the top flight last season and are desperate to return under Scott Parker.
