Chelsea are tipped to return for Palermo’s Argentine talent Javier Pastore as the Blues bid to press ahead with their transfer plans.
Despite being brushed off by the Italian club’s president Maurizio Zamparini, there is a growing sense in Italy that Palermo will deal for the right price.
Reports from Italy suggest that Pastore’s agent, Marcelo Simonian, met a close friend of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich yesterday in order to discuss just how much would be needed to snare the 21-year-old Argentine.
Since landing at Palermo from Huracan in 2009, Pastore has progressed on every front, causing comparisons to be drawn with even the great Lionel Messi.
If Chelsea are serious about taking the attacking midfielder to Stamford Bridge, a fee in excess of £40M will be needed.
