Prolific Brazilian striker Grafite looks close to ending his spell in European football after his current club Wolfsburg accepted an offer from Dubai-based side Al-Ahli.

The 32-year-old was a key part of Wolfsburg’s 2009 Bundesliga title triumph and subsequent Champions League campaign. However, Grafite’s performances and goalscoring exploits have suffered with Wolfsburg’s relative decline, with a sense of staleness at the Volkswagen Arena this season growing.

In sharp contrast to the club’s Bundesliga-winning season, when Grafite scored 28 goals in 25 games, this year the Brazilian managed just nine in 28.

The striker will now relaunch his career in the Middle East, after Wolfsburg accepted a bid of €3M from Al-Ahli.

Grafite himself is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Dubai-based club.
