Galatasaray are keen on Benfica’s Argentine midfielder Pablo Aimar.

Reports from Turkey indicate that the Istanbul giants have been in touch with Benfica and sent forward an offer of €2M for the Argentine.

However, while Benfica would be willing to cash in on Aimar, the Portuguese believe that the player is worth closer to €5M and have asked Galatasaray to increase their offer.

The 31-year-old joined Benfica in 2008 from Real Zaragoza. Blessed with superb passing and vision, Aimar has never hit the heights expected of him since moving to Europe, but nevertheless has remained a classy performer.

A switch to Turkey could provide the former Valencia man with a big payday as his career enters its final phase.
