Celtic have been linked with a swoop for young Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Joel Robles.
The 22-year-old Spaniard spent six months on loan at Rayo Vallecano last season and is expected to once again struggle for regular first team football at the Vicente Calderon in the 2012/13 campaign.
Robles is a product of Getafe’s youth system and joined Atletico Madrid in 2008. He graduated from the club’s C and B teams to link up with the senior squad in 2010.
The Spaniard made his La Liga debut in the same year, turning out against Sporting Gijon in a 1-1 draw.
Celtic are thought to be eyeing Robles to provide competition for English shot-stopper Fraser Forster and the youngster would surely be tempted by the prospect of playing at Parkhead.
Robles is under contract at the Vicente Calderon until 2014. He has represented Spain at Under-16, Under-17, Under-21 and Under-23 level.
